Here at the Foggy Frog, we strive to provide the highest quality products and customer service. If you’ve recently purchased something from us and are experiencing issues, please refer to the following guide for our refund and return policy.
To process a refund, we will require proof of purchase, such as a receipt.
Disposable Vapes:
Due to the single-use nature of disposable vapes, we cannot offer refunds or returns on opened or used devices. If you’re concerned about receiving a faulty product (such as a device that doesn’t work straight out of the box), we recommend testing your disposable vape before leaving the store. Once it leaves the store, we are unable to process refunds or returns.
E-Liquid:
We can exchange unopened bottles of e-liquid with the excise tax stamp still intact within 7 days of purchase. However, once the bottle has been opened, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges.
Coils and Pods:
We can process refunds or exchanges for unopened coils or pods within 7 days of purchase. Once opened, we are unable to accept returns or offer refunds for these items.
Hardware:
Refunds or exchanges for hardware can be completed within 7 days of purchase if the device has a manufacturer defect (for example, if the battery doesn’t work properly). We are unable to refund or exchange devices that have sustained user damage, such as water damage, physical damage, or damage caused by e-liquid.
Our Loyalty Program is designed to reward our regular shoppers with amazing deals, including 30% off your entire purchase, free coils or pods, and much more!
Here’s how it works: For every dollar you spend (before tax), you’ll earn 1 point. These points can then be redeemed for various rewards, ranging from 100 to 500 points, depending on the reward you choose.
To join our loyalty program, we just need your first name, last initial, and phone number. Rest assured, we will never use your phone number for spam or junk mail. It’s all about giving back to our valued customers! When making a purchase in-store, just let the team know you have an account!
Rewards are limited to one redeem per purchase, and points do not expire.
In British Columbia, there is an additional tax on vaping products, including but not limited to hardware, e-liquid, coils and pods, and disposables. This tax is a 20% HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) applied to all vaping product purchases. Implemented in 2020, this tax overrides the standard sales tax.
Other provinces, such as Saskatchewan, Newfoundland, Labrador, and Alberta, also have similar sales taxes on vaping products. Please keep this in mind when making your purchase.
When it comes to e-liquids (also known as 'vape juice' or 'juice'), there are two main types of nicotine: Salt Nicotine and Freebase Nicotine. Here’s a breakdown of the difference between the two:
Salt Nicotine E-Liquid:
Salt nicotine e-liquid is made using a more natural form of nicotine found in tobacco leaves. It is designed to be smoother on the throat and provides a quicker, more satisfying nicotine hit. Because of this, salt nicotine e-liquids are often used in lower-powered devices, such as pod systems, and are a great option for those who want to experience a more traditional smoking-like sensation. This e-liquid comes in 10mg/12mg, and 20mg.
Freebase E-Liquid:
Freebase nicotine is the purest form of nicotine and is commonly used in traditional e-liquids. This form of nicotine tends to be harsher on the throat, especially at higher nicotine concentrations, but it’s well-suited for sub-ohm devices that use higher wattages and produce bigger clouds. Freebase nicotine is often preferred by vapers who enjoy a stronger throat hit and the ability to customize their vaping experience with larger devices. This E-Liquid comes in 3mg and 6mg.
Both types have their own advantages depending on your vaping style, so whether you’re looking for smoothness or intensity, you can find an option that suits your needs.
Disposable vapes (also known as 'disposables' or 'dispos') are increasingly popular for many reasons, particularly among younger vapers. Their convenience, variety, and mess-free nature make them appealing. However, what many users don't realize is the hidden cost—both financially and environmentally—that comes with using them.
The Costs of Disposable vs. Refillable Devices
While disposable vapes may seem cost-effective at first glance, they can actually become much more expensive over time. Disposable vapes typically hold only 2ml of e-liquid, which may last just a few days depending on usage. The cost of a disposable vape is often around $30 or more, and when taxes are factored in, the price can rise even higher. Some disposable vapes can reach prices of 60$ before tax. If you’re using two disposable vapes per week, that comes to about $240 per month.
Refillable devices, on the other hand, offer a more affordable and sustainable option. A basic refillable device can be purchased for as little as $20 and usually includes multiple replacement pods. A 30ml bottle of e-liquid typically costs between $20 and $30. For someone who consumes 4ml of e-liquid per week (equivalent to two disposables), one 30ml bottle will last approximately 7.5 weeks.
Even when you factor in the initial cost of the refillable device and the cost of replacement pods and coils (around $8 each), the monthly cost for a refillable setup—including a new bottle of e-liquid and a fresh pod or coil—amounts to about $24, or up to $38 if you replace the pod or coil monthly. This is a dramatic savings compared to spending upwards of $240 per month on disposables.
Additionally, refillable vapes pose the same enviromental risks as disposable vapes do. However, instead of going through two a week, a properly maintained refillable device can last for years. This also makes properly disposing of it, once it is broken or unusable, a lot more managable. Even if you do not properly dispose of the device, it cuts down on the overall waste and pile-up of vape-related waste down by hundreds of disposable vapes.
The Environmental Consequences of Disposable Vapes
The environmental cost of disposable vapes is significant. While the Lithium-Ion batteries used in these devices are recyclable, the rest of the materials—plastics, metals, and e-liquid remnants—are non-biodegradable. This means they stay in landfills for hundreds of years, contributing to growing waste issues. Research has found that approximately 1.2 million disposable vapes are discarded every week, which is equivalent to enough energy to charge 1,200 electric vehicles.
The problem is exacerbated when people fail to dispose of their vapes properly. If the batteries are thrown away carelessly, they can leak harmful chemicals and heavy metals, which may seep into the ground and water sources, poisoning wildlife and contaminating ecosystems. The materials used in the construction of disposable vapes, such as plastic casings, and metals remain in the environment for a long time, creating lasting damage to the planet.
The Global Supply Chain: Hidden Environmental and Ethical Costs
Most disposable vapes are manufactured overseas, and then filled with e-liquid in Canada. While this approach is cost-effective for companies, it introduces significant environmental costs. The large-scale production of disposable vapes consumes enormous amounts of energy and raw materials, leading to resource depletion. Additionally, the transportation of these devices from overseas involves high fuel consumption, resulting in higher emissions of greenhouse gases.
Moreover, the global supply chain raises questions about ethical production practices. Because disposable vapes are made overseas, consumers have little knowledge about whether the materials used were ethically sourced or whether labor laws were properly followed during production. This also means that production practices often have harmful effects on local ecosystems and communities, as resource extraction and factory operations can lead to habitat destruction, water pollution, and more.
